Gateways to Post-Secondary Education: Normalizing access to Post-Secondary Educational Pathways in BC for Students with Developmental Disabilities.
STEPS Forward: BC initiative for Inclusive Post-Secondary Education is initiating a 3 year project to scale the impact of Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (IPSE) beyond campus communities. As such we would like to raise awareness and knowledge of equitable IPSE in BC. Using the success of IPSE in BC and the underlying commitment to IPSE initiatives, this project hopes to establish opportunities to embed students with developmental disabilities in the normative pathways in the primary and secondary school years that are established to help students without developmental disabilities to plan for and successfully pursue university or college.
This work aligns with the Ministry of Education's Vision for Student Success which highlights the importance ofevery learner to maximize theirindividual potentialas a key principle for student success.
